Betty M Burchell

Betty Burchell passed away on July 24, 2024 after a long and busy life. Betty was born July 6, 1930 to Victor and Pauline, and grew up with 8 brothers and 3 sisters. She married Jack Burchell and were together for 63 years until Jack passed away in 2012. Jack and Betty lived in Johnson City, NY and spent summers at Sandy Pond after Jack retired. Betty worked at Endicott Johnson and Philadelphia Sales. Betty was always stepping up for family needs and get togethers. She would always help her family out when needed, including taking in several for long periods of time. With that huge family came a lot of nieces and nephews-Chad and Terry Slate stayed with Jack and Betty until their father Gerald retired from the service and they were always very special to her.

Betty is survived by her daughter Joan LaBarre of Binghamton, her son John and daughter-in-law Donna Burchell of Manning, SC; granddaughter Nicole Sattler and grandson Andrew Burchell; 3 great grandchildren-Alyssa Burchell, Madison Sattler and Jack Sattler. Her brother Thomas of Balston Lake, NY is her only surviving sibling and was very special to Betty. Betty’s niece Janice Ingraham was extremely close to her, especially later in life, visiting Betty regularly at Elderwood and Vestal Park nursing home. Betty’s family really appreciates the care she received at Elderwood and Vestal Park Nursing homes.

Family will receive friends at the DeMunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service 36 Conklin Avenue Binghamton, New York 13903 on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 6:00pm until 7:30pm. Funeral Service will be Monday July 29, 2024 at the DeMunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 10:00am with burial to follow at the Lakeview Cemetery, Jackson, PA. to forward condolences, please visit www.demunn.com
