Beth Ann Canfield Bagnetto, 72, of Binghamton, New York, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 22, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Beth was born in Binghamton on August 18, 1953. She graduated from Binghamton North High School in 1971, attended Upstate Medical and Broome Community College, and earned her degree as a registered nurse. For 48 years she served as a Registered Nurse at Wilson Memorial and Binghamton General Hospitals, where she was a member of the Open Heart team and participated in many life‑saving surgeries.
In 1977 Beth married Paul Bagnetto. She is survived by her husband, Paul; her sons: Christopher; Stephen (wife Robyn; sons Michael and Robert); and Joseph (wife Kaleena; daughter Talia). She is also survived by her siblings Robert Canfield (Nancy), Joel Canfield, Tim Canfield, and Jackie Canfield. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Elaine Canfield. sister Linda Beckwith (Herb), her childhood best friend Rose Fuime, and her good friend Qassem Al-Nadi, whose children, Gabriel and Alia, she embraced as her own grandchildren.
Beth was a proud and compassionate nurse who loved helping others. Her smile and laughter could light up a room. She delighted in family, especially spoiling her grandchildren (as well as the granddogs). She enjoyed traveling, summer cookouts, and time at the family campground in Lansing, New York. In retirement she enjoyed regular lunches with friends, baking, hosting gatherings, and supporting Donate Life by volunteering at the New York State Fair to promote organ-donor registration.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, March 27, 2026 at the DeMunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 12:00 pm, Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Sts. John and Andrew, 1263 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton. To forward condolences please visit www.demunn.com
