Barbara Lester Hall, age 95, of Vestal NY, passed away November 16, 2023 and has joined her beloved husband of 60 years, Kenneth A. Hall. We can imagine their favorite song “Moonlight Serenade” playing as they glide across heaven's dance floor together once again. Barbara was a woman of great faith, honesty and integrity. She loved and lived for her family and instilled the importance of family and forgiveness.
Barbara was born in Center Village, NY, to the late Helen (Forsyth Lester) Lakin. She was predeceased by her stepfather Wilson “Tim” Lakin, sisters Jean Smith and Joyce Quain, brothers Lynn and Gerald Lester, stepbrother Eddie Lakin, sisters-in-law Diane and Karen Lester, and Dolores Lakin.
Barbara is survived by her children Eric and Karen Hall, Raleigh, NC; Kimberly and Doug Belke, Friendsville, PA; and son-in-her-heart Mike and Lisa Yerrick, Greer, SC; treasured grandchildren, Courtney and Chris McDaniel, Estero, FL; Taylor and Cassie Hall, Chapel Hill, NC; great-grandchildren, London, Ariana, and Hunter McDaniel, Estero, FL; Olivia and Josie Hall, Chapel Hill, NC.

After Barbara graduated from Binghamton North High School, she went to work for Ma Bell on Henry St. She married Ken in 1952 and they moved to Vestal in 1960. She was her children’s biggest fan at their ball games, swim meets and dramas. She was a dedicated member of Conklin Avenue First Baptist Church since 1947, devoting countless hours baking and cooking meals for many church functions throughout the years. Barbara was a diehard Yankees fan, avid bowler, Binghamton hockey club supporter since the Dusters, a huge Caniac, a regular walker at the Vestal rail trail, and proudly worked beside Ken as they established Hall’s Plumbing and Heating, until retirement. She loved to bake/cook and blessed many people with her kitchen creations.
The family would like extend their gratitude to Barbara’s amazing home care team from Angel’s Helping Hands for their loving care, compassion and kindness shown to Barbara over the past two years, and to Lourdes Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family would invite you to donate in Barbara’s name to Broome Bounty or CHOW.
