Athanasia Stronghilos

  Athanasia Marina Stronghilos joined her husband Nicholas in Heaven on January 10, 2019. She was 97 years old and lived a full and beautiful life.  She brought positivity and light to all she met, and she will be greatly missed.    Athanasia is survived by her daughters, Constance & James Dwyer, Athena & Peter Negros, Joanne & Jeff Stachyra, Grandchildren:  Michael Negros, Nikolette Dwyer & John Moody, Christina Dwyer & Joseph Powell and Great-grandson, Nico James Powell, Marina Negros, and Sydney Stachyra. Also, surviving are her nieces, Christine & John Anagnostou and their children, Anastasios, Dionysios and Alexandra, and Marty & Greg MacKenzie and their children, Colan, Morgan and Benjie.  She was predeceased by her brother Dionysios and sister Theone.   Funeral services will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, January 12th at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 214 Court Street, Binghamton, NY.  Interment in Floral Park Cemetery will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Susquehanna Home Health Care and Twin Tier Home Health for the wonderful care and aides they provided.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Athanasia's name may be made to the charity of your choice.
