Our beloved mother, Alfreda Quain, 96, passed away May 2, 2018. She was fiercely devoted to her family and loved life to the fullest. Alfreda was talkative, outgoing and collected many friends during her lifetime. Throughout her illness her only worry was how her family was holding up. Her love for others extended to helping many as a senior volunteer for the Broome Development Center. Many local families will remember her years as a devoted nanny. She was avid Mets fan, a bingo regular at Post #1645. Alfreda was always up for an outing to Tioga Downs, was a connoisseur of Yellow Tail Shiraz but most of all enjoyed attending the baseball games of her great grandsons, Max and Zack. She was predeceased by her husband Richard and eight siblings. Afreda is survived by her children; Marie Heger, Michael and Dianne Quain, Eileen and Jack Skutnik, John Quain and Elizabeth and Edmund Krukowski, treasured grandchildren; Sean and Tammy Bell, Dana Bell, Nicole and Aaron Marcus, Wendy Heger, Jennifer and Timothy Beckering, Norman Heger, Nathan Quain, Jake Quain, Jeffrey Quain, Sara and Anthony Archetti and Erik Krukowski, great grandchildren; Max and Zack Bell, Faith, Ryan, Sage and Allison Beckering, Anyssa and Dericka Heger.
