Edward D. Heilof BinghamtonEdward D. Heil, 84, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010. He was predeceased by his loving wife of, 58 years, Betty Smith Heil, his father, Edward Heil, mother and stepfather, Hazel and William Eels, sisters; Grace McGovern and Josephine Hoover. Ed is survived by his children; Wayne and Jayne Heil, Santa Ynez, Ca., Stephen and Andrea Heil, Lakeridge, Va., Joseph and Charlotte Heil, Binghamton and Susan and Bill Carroll, Binghamton, treasured grandchildren; David and Jessika Heil, Palmdale, Ca., Nicki and Albert Cabanting, Santa Maria, Ca., Jason Heil and Jamie House, Manassas, Va., Erica and Ken Hanley, Charlotte, N.C., Miranda and Chris DeLisa, Johnson City and Jesse Heil, Binghamton and three great grandchildren; Kailani Cabanting, Dylan Heil and Cole Hanley.
Ed was a veteran of the United State Marine Corps serving his country during World War II. Many people will remember Ed as a printer at Printing Craftsman, Court Street, Binghamton. Edward enjoyed many activities of the BPOE Elks #70, Kirkwood including golf, bowling and fishing. Ed’s family would like to thank the special people who make up the caring staff of the NYS Veterans Home at Oxford.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm, Wednesday August 25, 2010 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Interment will be 11:00 am, Thursday, August 26, 2010 in South Gibson Cemetery, Gibson, PA. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday from 4:00 until 6:00 pm.
