Louise Cronin
of Binghamton
Louise T. Cronin, 93, passed away peacefully Friday, July 9, 2010. She will be remembered for her unselfish, giving nature, her baking skill, and her unmistakable laugh. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Cronin, her parents, William Trautlein and Helen Peabody Trautlein, her brothers Robert, William, and George and her sister Helen Marie. Louise is survived by her chldren: Paul Cronin, of Albany, NY, and Joanne Cronin, of Boonton, NJ; brother, H. David (Angela) of Ilion, NY, niece Margaret DeGraff, of Ithaca;, several other nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.
Louise was born in Buffalo, NY. She attended Nazareth College on the Cadet Nurse program, graduating in 1947 with a degree in nursing. She married Robert Cronin in 1949, moved to Binghamton in 1950, and was a longtime resident of the South Side. She was a faithful member of St John the Evangelist Church, past president of the church's Altar Rosary Society, and sang in the church choir. She was employed for over twenty years at the St. John's school cafeteria.
Funeral services will begin 9:30 am, Friday, July 16, 2010 with prayers at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton and will continue at 10:00 am, at Saints John and Andrew RC Church 1163 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Monsignor Michael T. Meagher. Interment will follow services in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
