Kathleen M. Walsh of Binghamton   Our Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma, Kathleen M. Walsh, 100, died peacefully Tuesday, July 06, 2010.A true loving and caring person, Katie has left a hole in our family circle. She was predeceased by all of her siblings, Jack, James, Mary, Elizabeth and Bridget; her husband of 43 years, James, granddaughter, Maura Johnson and great-grandson, Justin Walsh. Katie is survived by her children; John and Pat Walsh, Binghamton and Maureen and Joseph Johnson, Binghamton, her treasured grandchildren; James Walsh, Schenectady, NY, Patrick and Hollie Walsh, Binghamton and Joseph and Anastasia Johnson, Ypsilanti, MI. She leaves behind eight beloved great grandchildren, sisters-in-law including Gladys White, England and numerous, nieces and nephews in England, Ireland and the United States and a large extended family. Katie was a devout Roman Catholic, having been a member of Saints John and Andrew since her immigration from Ireland in 1927. She was proud of her Irish heritage and more than proud of her entire family. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am, Friday, July 9, 2010 at Saints John and Andrew Church, 1163 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton by the Reverend Monsignor Michael T. Meagher. Interment will follow services in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. In Katie’s memory, donations may be made to the Association for Vision Rehabilitation and Employment, Inc., 174 Court Street, Binghamton, NY 13901.
