Barbara K. Shaffer

Barbara K. (Mitzel) Shaffer of Windsor   Barbara K. Shaffer went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2010. She was predeceased by her parents, Edna and Joseph Mossakowski  and her former husband, John Mitzel. She is survived by her loving family; husband Alvah; daughters, Kathleen (Reese) Davies, Candace (George) Meeker, Barbara (Robert) Warner and Holly Storey; sons, John (Lori) Mitzel, Patrick Mitzel and Michael (Louise) Mitzell. She leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Cecelia Penney and Martha Flipse; brother, Al Mossakowski; brother-in-law, Robert (Sharon) Shaffer and several nieces, nephews and friends. Barbara worked at Ansco and was a housekeeper at Rivermeade Manor and several motels. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Windsor and was a member of the East Side Congregational Church in Binghamton. Barbara’s biggest joy in life was her family. She loved cooking and gardening. A special thanks from the family goes out to the staff at Bridgewater Rehabilitation for their exceptional kindness and care and to her physician, Dr. Wasco.
