Jack G. Stover

Jack G. Stover, 82, passed away at his home, Monday, April 12, 2010. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Stover, brothers, George, Phil and Doug Stover; sisters, Annie Evans and Frances Lloyd. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Olive, children, Rebecca Stover, Windsor, Michael and Ruth Neil Stover, Auburn, Wa.; cherished grandchildren, Jesse and Olivia Stover. He leaves behind sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Gorton, Whitney Point, Dorothy and Joseph Parisi, No. Carolina and Shirley and John Butchko, Binghamton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Gloria Stover, Port Crane, Ray and Patty Stover, Kirkwood and Robert Stover, Rutland, Vt.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Joan Nugent, Binghamton, special cousins, Aldine Stalker, Vestal and many nieces and nephews. Jack was a veteran of the United States Navy serving his country in the Philippines during World War II as a member the Seabees. He retired after 32 years from the Greater Binghamton Health Center. Upon retiring Jack went to work for Catholic Charities where he worked for 10 years. Jack was truly a Jack of many trades, rebuilding his own home and offering his skills to his children, relatives and friends. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed bird watching and working in the woods.  Jack’s family would like to express their gratitude for the outstanding care given by Dr. Daniel Belina and his staff at Broome County Oncology and Lourdes Hospice, especially Melanie. A remembrance service will be held 6:00 pm, Friday, April 23, 2010 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until the time of services.
