Michael Charles Butler

Michael Charles Butler, 54, went to be with the Lord on angel’s wings, Monday, February 15, 2010. He will always be remembered as a man who had a wonderful sense of humor and who would help anyone out that he could. He truly loved his family and friends and the New York Yankees and Giants. He was predeceased by his father, Ralph H. (Mike) Butler; and his grandmother, Kathleen D. Parsons. Michael leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Linda Forester Butler; three daughters, Heather (Matt) Cartier, Pulaski, NY, Melissa (Chris) Butler, Johnson City and Rebecca (Jamie) Butler, Johnson City; son, Michael Butler, Johnson City; five grandchildren, Ashley and Noah Cartier, Destany Edwards, Damian Schieberl and Skylar Bateman. He also leaves behind his loving mother, Kathleen (Butler) Merrill, Binghamton; brothers and sisters, Ralph (Katie) Butler, Hillcrest, Kathy (Bobby) Weathers, Binghamton, William "Prince" Butler, Binghamton, Tom (Megan) Butler, Binghamton, Mary Butler, Binghamton, Robert Butler, Binghamton, Daniel Butler, Binghamton, Ruth (Patrick) Ferron, Dunedin, FL, and Larry (Arlene) Butler, Binghamton; sister-in-law, Gloria (Ed) Bennett, Harpursville;  Godchildren, Chris Winans, Johnson City, and Sandra Juracek, Thibodeaux, LA, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his faithful companions, Mickey and Oreo. Michael’s family wishes to extend their hand in gratitude to Dr. Maria Galu and Nurse Scott at Lourdes Primary Care, to all the wonderful people and staff on 1 Ross Palliative Care Team, Lourdes ICU and Hospice for your gentle and loving care of Michael. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, February 18, 2010, at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton and will continue at 10:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Saints John and Andrew RC Church, 1263 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton with the Reverend Monsignor Michael T. Meagher officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 17th.
