George Bates

  George J. Bates, 59, passed away March 13, 2017. He was a very devoted family man and was loved by many. George was the Superintendent of Clayton Village Apartments for 27 years. He loved his beloved dog, Braxton, the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Thelma Bates. George is survived by his wife of 21 years, Cynthia and children; George and Megan Brown, Cyntrece Brown, Latoya and Walt Mitchell, Gina and Chris Bolin, Joe and Lori Bates and Carrie and Paul Gibson, treasured grandchildren, Teagan and Jaxon Brown, Victoria and Mia Rose Mitchell, Samantha, Kayla and Ashlynn Bolin, Paris and Dallas Bates and Dawson and Matilyn Gibson. He leaves behind sister, Teresa, brother, Rick and a large extended family and many friends. Memorial services will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 2398 Route 11, Whitney Point.
