Charles "Chuck" Monta

Charles “Chuck” H. Monta, Jr. sadly passed away at home due to complications of Agent Orange from his tour of duty in Vietnam. He has joined God, his parents Dolores and Charles, sister, Beatrice Nedrow, mother-in-law, Helen Price and many friends; Mike, Chuck, Spanky and Bronx, to name a few. Chuck’s loyalty to family and friends is unquestioned. He had a wonderful combination of seriousness and humor. Chuck said what he felt, no holds barred. He was honest and generous to those in need. Chuck loved his Keystone Ice, Tioga Downs traveling to see his family and playing with Bandit. He was a cook in many restaurants in the area; his culinary expertise was enjoyed by many.  Chuck’s passing is a tremendous loss to all his loved ones. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Marsha Hoyt Monta, sons; Chuck (Joan), Kirkwood and Tony (Lynnette), Daytona Beach, Florida, siblings; Sandra Hill, Binghamton, John, Greenville, SC, Kathlyn (Walf) Capozzi-Sun, Pleasant Grove, Utah, Ramona (Tom) Zellers, Endicott, Dave, Binghamton, sisters-in-law; Theresa (Dave) Price-Kotarski, Rose (Jose) Price, Lori (John) Gavette, Kim Price, Mary (Kevin) Stankiewicz, Zina (Steve) Swartwood, Cindy (Javier) Price, brothers-in-law; Paul Nedrow and Art Hoyt. He leaves behind many grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends which include, Paul and Bobby Merwin, Jack Beuter as well as his fur baby, Bandit. Chuck’s family would like to thank Lourdes Hospice for their assistance during his final weeks and a special thank you to Kim, Ramona, Tom, Caleb, Rose, Jose, Misty, Pito, Lil Greg, Andrea and Lori for being there in his final hours. In lieu of flowers, Thank a Veteran. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, December 2, 2016 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with his nephew, Nelson Rodiquez officiating. Interment will follow services in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
