Catherine H. Burkhardt

Catherine H. Burkhardt (nee Marks) passed away Wednesday, July 27,2016. She was a graduate of Rhinebeck High School, Class of 1955 and married Robert L. Burkhardt in 1956. Catherine was creative and artistic, taught ceramics, decorated wedding cakes and owned and operated the Breezeway Florist in Red Hook, New York. She loved her dogs and spent many enjoyable hours tending to her houseplants. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Burkhardt, daughter, Robin L. Burkhardt and parents, Vincent and Rose Marks. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Teresa L. Hewett and husband, Donald, Binghamton, treasured granddaughters; Erin Hewett Ragheb and husband, Ragy, Gainesville, Florida and Renee Hewett Alexander and husband, Michael, Marcellus, New York. She leaves behind sister, Wilma Beach-Davison, Red Hook, New York, brother, Vincent “Sonny” Marks and wife, Dana, Rhinebeck, New York, brother-in-law, Wayne T. Burkhardt and wife, Judy, Pleasant Valley, New York, nieces and nephews, Peter M. Beach, Victoria Marks Holt, Jennifer Marks Brandes, David Burkhardt and Dawn Burkhardt Thomas and an extended family.
