Raeder Finkle, 95, passed away May 18, 2016.Raeder was born to Milton M. Finkle and Frances (Raeder) Finkle on March 21, 1921 in Barrytown, NY. He graduated Red Hook High School in 1938 and Delhi Agriculture and Technical Institute in 1940. Raeder spent almost four years in Service during World War II as an Electrical Aircraft Instrument Mechanic in the European Theatre.
He was married to Jean M. Simmons of Hobart, NY on December 12, 1945. She predeceased him December 10, 2014. Also predeceased by a brother, Clarence Finkle and half sister, Edna Crapser.
Raeder is survived by daughter, Shirley Trask, granddaughter, Rachael Krizanek (her two children, Marissa and Ethan) of Georgia and grandson, Russell Trask (his wife, Jennifer and their daughter, Estella) of Georgia He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He worked most of his life as a carpenter for various contractors and later worked 16 years in maintenance at Fox Hospital in Oneonta retiring in 1986. Raeder loved bowling, golf, bingo and going to the casinos.
