Robert W. Jones, 73, was reunited with the Lord, Sunday, March 27, 2016. Bob was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He put his family first always. What he most valued in life was his family- they were his “Gold”. He went out of his way to help anyone in need without ever expecting to repaid.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Anette Jones and sister, Lucille Thomas. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary, children; Michelle and Craig Soller, Farmington, NY and Jason Jones and Nicole Burrows, Binghamton, treasured grandchildren; Steven and Amanda Soller, Brian and Rebecca Soller, Kyle and Alison Soller and Ariana Soller. He leaves behind brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tim and Dorothy Koloski, Binghamton, Doris Koloski, Binghamton, Dayton Alger, Conklin and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home he worked for over 20 years at the Greater Binghamton Health Center. After his retirement he worked as the code enforcement officer for the Town of Conklin. He was an avid fan of Syracuse Athletics, stock car racing and enjoyed woodworking.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm, Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with Pastor Brian Soller officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Bob will be interred at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 1, 2016 in Chenango Valley Cemetery with military honors.
