Peter Scarantino

Peter Scarantino, 64, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Katie Scarantino. Pete is survived by his wife of 44 years, Maxine, son, Michael Scarantino, Longmont, Co., brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Judy Scarantino, Binghamton, sister, Angela French, Vestal, sisters-n-law and brother- in-law, Jean and Gerald Bayne, Brackney, Pa. and Joyce Sartell, Binghamton, He leaves behind a large extended family, which include the families of the Ayres, Boyers, Heisigs, Kowalchyks, Mareans, Mattos and Regans. The family would like to thank Dr. Ramanujapuram Ramanujan and Dr. Ronald Harris for their exceptional care over the past few years. Pete was an engineer for the NYS Department of Transportation for many years. He was a dedicated volunteer of the Town of Binghamton Fire Department for over 35 years and a member of the Broome County Firefighters Association. He served on the Broome County Fire Advisory Board as well as the Town of Binghamton Planning Board. He enjoyed life, his family, friends and golf. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm, Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Hawleyton United Methodist Church, 901 Hawleyton Road, Binghamton with Pastor Lee Prong officiating. Interment will follow services in Hawleyton Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm.
