Obituary of Charles WolcottCharles M. Wolcott, Sr., 81, passed away at on April 17, 2015. Charles was loved by all and will be missed dearly. He was born August 20, 1933. He was predeceased by his parents Lewis and Ruth Wolcott and his brothers William, John and Lewis Wolcott. Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth, his children; Michelle and Dane Schmidt, Maureen and Tim Mathewson, Charles M. Wolcott Jr., Karen and Dave Andrus and Deneene and Damon Macaluso and treasured grandchildren; David Andrus, Robert Andrus, Eric Andrus, Marc Schmidt and Erica Schmidt, and two great grandchildren Dakota Andrus and Lilly Schmidt. He leaves behind sister, Barbara Smith, brother in law Richard Rolles, sisters-in-law, Delores Wolcott and Joyce Hills, many nieces and nephews. Charles was retired from A & P Grocery stores. He was known by many as the Ginseng King and shared this hobby with his special live long friend John B. Southee. He enjoyed telling stories about fishing on the Delaware and stories about when he was young. He was an amazing builder. He designed and built their family home, his daughter Michelle’s home and son Chuck’s home from the ground up. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran.Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, April 20, 2015 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Interment will follow services in Chenango Valley Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of services.
