Obituary of Tarbox FamilyThe Tarbox Family Our precious family, Nicole, Evyn, Mya and Mariah Tarbox, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015. Nicole, 33, was a beloved wife, mother and best friend of 15 years, loved working with and advocating for children. Her life was devoted to her family and helping others. She had a passion for chocolate, cake making and extreme couponing. Evyn,"Jimmy 2 Shoes", 13, the comedian of the family was looking ahead to the start of his first football season. He was a 7th grader at RTS Middle School and played baseball for the TOB Yankees. Evyn was rarely seen without his Green Bay Packers hat upon his head and a smile on his face. Mya, 9, was a contrast. She loved all things “girly” and could still be found climbing a tree in a dress. She loved horses, music, cheerleading, dancing and played softball, not because she loved it, but rather to be with her close friends. Mya was a 3rd grader at Brookside Elementary. Mariah “ Chubs”, 3, would always make us smile. No matter how mad, how sad or how bad the day, she would be the one that could make you grin from ear to ear. She joyfully attended preschool at the Family Enrichment Network to visit with her friends. Her favorite part of school was riding the bus, because she would be a “big kid” just like her older brother and sister. She never passed a swing set that she failed to try out. As a family, they were active members of the community in which they lived. They worked hard to make this a better place to live for everyone. They were avid outdoors people. Camping, hunting, biking and swimming, no matter the activity, it was done together. They were lovers of all animals. Furry, slimy or gross, it did not seem to matter. They are survived by, husband and father, Shawn “Buck” Tarbox, sons and brothers, Shawn Tarbox, II and Wyatt Tarbox, parents and grandparents, Leslyn Spruck, Debbie Spalik, Joseph Potter, Phyllis Tarbox and Howard and Linda Tarbox. They leave behind siblings and aunts and uncles, Samantha and Colleen Potter and Jason, Brandy and Jennifer Spalik, Keith Rose, Jenn and Dave Green, Howard Tarbox and financee, Liz, great uncles; Jim Mastro and Frank Spruck and a large extended family. The Tarbox family would like to gratefully acknowledge the outpouring of support from friends and community. Words can never express how this community has gone above and beyond to bring comfort and offer help in any way they could. Memorial contributions can be made to the Shawn Tarbox Family, c/o SEFCU, 3460 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal, NY 13850.
