Robert "Wimpy" Vosburg

A true icon of the area, Robert “Wimpy” Vosburg, 83, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents, Rexford and Viola Vosburg, brother, Charles, sister, Nellie Shapley, twin brother Ralph, nephew, Michael Vosburg and special friend, Mickey Sedor. Wimpy is survived by siblings, Marian and Richard Huttleston, Endicott and Joyce and Jim Knepper, Longmont, Colorado, Merilyn Vosburg, San Mateo, California, Edward Shapley, Hawleyton. He leaves behind treasured nieces and nephews, Philip, Douglas, Alanna, Judy, Vicki, Lori, Gary, Teri, Michael, Marcene, Michelle and Mary Beth, many great nieces, great nephews, cousins and his special nephew John Zurenda, who helped Wimpy to remain independent. Many people collect things throughout their lives, Wimpy collected friends. This collection over the years has become so large that they all could not be listed here. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Hawleyton United Methodist Church, 901 Hawleyton Road, Binghamton with the Reverend William L. Puckey officiating. Interment will be in the spring in Hawleyton Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton.
