Beloved wife and mother, Mary Katherine “Kay” Travis, 85, passed away peacefully Friday, January 9, 2015. Kay was a lifelong ballroom dancer. She was awarded an all American Teachers Award for her dance instruction. She returned to college after her children were grown and earned her degree from SUNY Binghamton. Kay worked in advertising for The Pennysaver News.
She was predeceased by her parents, Bernard J. and Virginia C. Gallagher and stepson, Aaron Travis. Kay is survived by her husband of 30 years, Ron, her children; Cheryl Page, Monroe, New York, Donna Page and John Caldwell, Atlanta, Georgia, Joe and Amy Page, Meridian, Idaho and treasured granddaughter, Meghan Page, Woodridge, Il. She leaves behind sister, Agnes Anne McFalls, brother and sister-in-law, Bernard J. and Carol Gallagher, special niece, Bridget and David Allen all of Knoxville, Tenn., step daughter, Victoria R. Taylor, Binghamton and step grandson, Joshua Travis.
Memorial services will be held 10:30am, Monday, January 12, 2015 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with the Reverend John R. Martinichio officiating. Interment will follow services in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 am until the time of services.
