Loretta E. Jones

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Loretta E. Jones, 82, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 13, 2014. Her family was always at the center of her life, holidays were a special time with family. She loved singing, dancing and Jeopardy. Many will remember Loretta as the easygoing cafeteria worker from the Susquehanna Valley Middle School. She was predeceased by her husband, Glen R. “Bob” Jones and an infant son. Loretta is survived by her children; Nancy Hyatt, Binghamton, Glen Jones, Conklin, Marla and Jay Purdy, Harrisburg, Pa., Mark and Susan Jones, West Schyuler, N.Y. and Craig and Patricia Jones, Binghamton, treasured grandchildren; Robert Hyatt, Thomas Hyatt, Steven Jones, Whitney and Michael Dezatel, Bryana Jones, Emily Purdy, Ryan Jones, Rachael Jones and Matthew Jones, great grandchildren, Kirstin Hyatt and Liam Hyatt. She leaves behind sisters and brothers-in-law, Ada and Warren Reichert, Southport, N.C. and Marilyn and Jack James, Nanticoke, Pa., brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Lorine Wertz, Nanticoke, Pa. Loretta’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the 65 Pennsylvania Ave Dialysis Center for their care and kindness. Funeral services will be held 4:00pm, Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with the Reverend Carl Moore officiating. Interment will take place the spring in the family plot in Shickshinny, Pa. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
