John “Jack” F. Goughary, 73, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014. He would be described by family and friends as an ideologist, who loved to learn. He enjoyed reading about WWII history, economics, politics and health. Always energized, he loved to ride motorcycles, bicycles and scooters. He enjoyed nature, camping and boating. His hobbies were an eclectic mix of art, big band music, dancing, gardening, logo design, fashion, interior design and restoration of cars, furniture, antiques.
Jack’s love of cars, lead to his first job at Parkway Auto. He then began working for himself restoring antique and classic cars. He followed his parents’ passion for antiques and had a number of antique and boutique shops as well.
He was predeceased by parents, Fred and Marguerite Goughary and brother, David. Jack is survived by his children, Jackie Goughary, Binghamton and Michael Goughary, Pineville, NC, their mother, Kathleen Goughary, brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Annette Goughary, Binghamton and a large extended family and many friends. Jack’s family would like to thank the staff of Wilson Memorial for their support.
