William Byron Scull, Sr.

December 18, 1922 — November 11, 2014

William Byron Scull, Sr., 91, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014. He has gone to join Ruth, his childhood sweetheart and devoted wife of 67 years. Bill is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, William B. Scull, Jr. and R. Cheryl Scull of Endwell and son, John C. Scull of Greenville, S.C. He will be missed by his grandchildren; Damian Scull, Matthew Scull and wife, Lisa, Kristin Snyder and husband, Luke as well as five great-grandchildren. Bill was a retiree of Vail-Ballou Press where he worked for 35 years. He served the in United States Navy during World War II in both the Pacific and European Theaters. Bill was a longtime member of High Street United Methodist Church and served as a Cub Scout Leader and Assistant Leader of the Boy Scouts for Pack and Troop #5. He volunteered for 15 years teaching printing at the Binghamton Boy’s Club. Bill was one of the original members of the Deer Lake Owners Association and was an Honorary Life Member of the Graphic Communications International Union. He was a past member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Binghamton Lodge, where he was Noble Grand for two years. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the High Street United Methodist Church, 1288 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton with the Reverend Vonda Fossitt officiating. Interment will follow services in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the church from 10:00am until the time of services. To forward condolences please visit www.demunnfh.com.
