Frederick W. Brundage, 83, died peacefully November 7, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Dora Brundage, son, Mark F. Cone (1990). Fred is survived by his wife, Barbara J., daughter, Mary (Bruce) Rought, Vestal, son, Kevin (Patty) Brundage, Windsor, grandchildren; Jessica (Tammy Stebbins) Cone, Endicott, Shawana Cone, Apalachin, Melissa (Lance Cummings) Cone, Hillcrest, Joshua (Rebecca Waldo) Rought, Vestal, Nicholas Rought, Vestal, Meghan Gillespie, Kaylin Brundage and Mark Brundage. He leaves behind 8 great grandchildren, sister, Dorothy Graham, Amherst, NY, brothers; Donald (Dixie) Brundage and Ronald Brundage, all of Hornell, NY, sister-in-law, Beverly Hill, Syracuse, brother-in-law, Ken (Betty) Hill, Green Bay, Wis., daughter-in-law, Kelly Cone, Apalachin, goddaughter, Diane Graham, Amherst, NY and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Fred retired from IBM in 1990 after thirty years of service. He became active in volunteering for RSVP, Senior Net Computer Program, AARP Tax Program, Meals on Wheels and many other local agencies. He was active in the United Church of Christ and the Susquehanna Association. He was a member of the Federated Church of Maine. Fred’s family expresses their sincere gratitude for the loving compassionate care given to Fred from the staff of Tulip Court at Ideal Living Center.
Memorial services will be held 12:00pm, Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Federated Church of Maine, 2615 Main Street, Maine with the Reverend Robert Dean officiating. Family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 am until the time of services. In keeping with Fred’s desires for higher education, he has generously gifted his body to the Anatomical Program at Upstate Medical. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Fred’s name may be made to Meals on Wheels of Western Broome, 705 Main Street, Endicott, NY 13760 or to the Memorial Fund of the Federated Church of Maine, 2615 Main Street, Maine, NY 13802
