Bettie Jean Compton

Our amazing mother, Bettie Jean Compton entered the gates of heaven on her 52nd birthday, October 13, 2014. She was welcomed by her brothers, Joseph Carson Kirkland, Herbert Lee Kirkland and David Douglas Gardner and predeceased by her father, David Kirkland. Bettie will be sadly missed by her daughter, Melinda Sue (Gerald Prince) Dattilo and son, Terence Richard Compton, her parents, Douglas and Theresa Gardner, siblings, Sheryl Kirkland, Georgia (Thomas) Ryan, Theresa Furlong, David (Sherry) Kirkland, Tammy McBride, Tracy (Tim) Tokos, Brenda (Tom) Allen and Michelle Reynolds. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished. She had many special people in her life including, Ron Grubb, John and Gwen Compton and William Garner. Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm, Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with Pastor Dann Travis officiating. Family will receive friends for 3:00 pm until the time of services. Interment will be 10:00 am, Monday, October 20, 2014 in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
