Laura P. Pratt, 44, loving wife and devoted mother, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014, after a battle with cancer. She graduated from Binghamton High School in 1987 and attended Shenandoah Conservatory and the University of Rochester. Laura was a talented cellist and was a member of the Binghamton Community Orchestra. Laura worked at Boscov’s department store for several years and greatly enjoyed the company of her coworkers. She also volunteered time helping others through her work with patient advocacy at the Greater Binghamton Health Center.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ellen (Belcher) Petrisko and Richard N. Petrisko. She is survived by her husband of 11 years, LeBon Pratt, and her beloved daughter Brianna, the joy of her life. She is also survived by her sibings, Monica Petrisko, New York, New York, Debbie and Scott Sussman, Highland Park, New Jersey, and Richard Petrisko, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and nephew, Matthew Sussman. She leaves behind aunt and uncle, Margaret and James Bunnell, Johnson City, and cousins, Cynthia, Theresa, Tom and Michelle.
The family would like to thank Laura and Lee’s numerous caring friends who helped them with encouragement, rides, meals, child care, smiles, and in countless other ways. Laura loved her friends as if they were family. She valued the support she received from them and was very happy to be a supportive friend in turn, despite her own personal challenges.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00pm, Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, 1 Aquinas Street, Binghamton by the Reverend Monsignor John Putano. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00am until the time of services. Interment will follow services in Calvary Cemetery.
