Our beloved husband and father, Jeffrey King, 53, passed away after a brief and courageous fight against acute onset leukemia on Saturday, July 26, 2014. According to his daughter, Julia, Jeff was “The most inspiring and loving person. He was calm and caring in any situation. He has earned his wings. My father was a 53 year old hero who went down fighting to a merciless disease called Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia.” Jeff was a lover of classical music, Led Zeppelin, the Mets, the Rangers and the Giants. He was a reader of history. Jeff worked as a Lead Analyst at NYSEG and was a member of Saints John and Andrew RC Church. He coached CYO Basketball for Saints John and Andrew RC Church and was an avid bowler and golfer. He was predeceased by his parents, Merle and Polly King and a brother, Mike King. Jeff is survived by his wife of 20 years, Linda and his cherished children; Christopher, Julia, Audrey and Joseph. He leaves behind sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ted Stetson, niece and nephew, Shelby and Alex, Des Moines, Iowa, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Joanie Healey, Conklin, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patricia and Mark Bauer, Shrub Oak, New York and Nonnie, Frances Passiment, Binghamton. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am, Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Saints John and Andrew RC Church, 1263 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton with the Reverend Monsignor Michael T. Meagher officiating. Interment will follow services in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. To forward condolences please visit www.demunnfh.com.
