Margaret Fernald

Margaret Fernald, 93, surrounded by her family, went home to be with her Lord and Savior and to be reunited with her husband, Bud, on Friday, May 30, 2014. Margaret lived a full life filled with love and perseverance. She loved tending to her flowers and vegetable garden and spending as much time as she could outdoors. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Everyone who met Margaret instantly loved her and the feeling was mutual. Her sense of humor was unwavering regardless of whatever challenge she may have been facing. Her love and kindness towards others is an example to be followed. She was predeceased by her daughter, Connie and son, Wayne. Margaret is survived by her children; Chuck and Jan Fernald, Binghamton, Nancy and Denny O’Hara, Boca Raton, Fla., Linda Gower and Bud Vitale, Binghamton and Carolyn and Geo Heath, Williamsport, Pa. She leaves behind 27 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren and several special nieces. Margaret’s family would like to thank Dr. Ramanujan and his staff for their many years of loving care and Lourdes Hospice for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be private.
