Leland Douglas Brooks

Leland Douglas Brooks, 64, passed away May 13, 2014 and is coming home to Hawleyton to be buried alongside his father. He was a graduate of Susquehanna Valley. Leland proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for the City of Boca Raton, Parks and Recreation Department for 36 years. It was a privilege for his family to see how he was loved and respected by his coworkers. Leland is survived by, daughter, Lucy Brooks, his lifelong companion, Marlene Heffernan, both of Florida, mother, Eleanor Brooks, siblings; Janice Brooks-Headrick and Charles Headrick, Nancy and David James, Michelle and Dennis Gill, Robert and Suzanne Brooks, Natalie Brooks-McMahon and Thomas Crounce and Paula Schofield. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Hawleyton United Methodist Church with the Reverend William Puckey officiating.
