Lawrence L. Beauter

April 3, 1935 — August 13, 2013

     Lawrence L. “Bunny” Beauter, 78, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 after a well fought battle with cancer. Larry was the epitome of husband, father and grandfather and was endowed with a quick and dry sense of humor. He was an active sportsman, crushing his opponents in softball, bowling, horseshoes, billiards and ping pong. Larry’s favorite pastime was watching the New York Yankees win and he spent hours avidly walking for enjoyment.      He was predeceased by his wife fifty-two years, Patricia Beauter, his wife, Jean Wightman Beauter and brother, Tom Beauter. Larry is survived by his children; John and Kandy Beauter, their daughter, Courtney, Binghamton, their son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Sarah Beauter, and their daughter, Tricia, Gainesville, Mo., Sandy and Jim Beardsley, sons, Paul and Peter, Dunedin, Fla. and Karen and Peter Meister and their son, Andrew, Lake Placid. He leaves behind siblings, Lorraine Kemp, Mildred Reynolds, Jim Beauter, Judy White, Darlene Poelman, Patricia Swartout and their families; also his extended family of, Mel and Sandy Wightman, Chenango Forks, Maurie and Vera Wightman, Syracuse, Shirley Dahl, Tiberon, CA, and Nancy and Jim Riley, Apalachin.      Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, August 16, 2013, at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 3505 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal, with Reverend Eric Jensen officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, New York 13790.
