Dorothea Harrison Constine, known to many as "Dot", was called home in the early hours of July 5, 2013. She was born in Berwick, Pa. in 1926 to John and Mary Harrison, who predecease her. She is also predeceased by her brother John and her beloved husband, Charles Constine. Dorothea is survived by her two daughters and their families: steady Candy and Dick Clark of Binghamton, (granddaughter) Karen and Robert Karyshyn of Maryland, (grandsons) Charles and Audrey Clark of Maryland, and Anthony and Gina Clark of California; and loving Kimberly and Robert Little of Missouri, and (grandsons) Christopher, Timothy and William Little, all of Missouri. She leaves behind precious great grandchildren, Raymond and Cassandra Karyshyn and Quentin Clark. Also surviving are loving sisters-in-law Joan Harrison of Binghamton, Janet Tritten of Vestal, and her aunt Anne Shaw, now of Vestal. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, dear old friends also remain.
Dorothea graduated from Binghamton Central High and from the Cadet nursing program offered at City Hospital (now part of UHS) during WW II. Her nursing career, her family and the home her husband built for them were sources of great joy and meaning in her life. We, her family, thank all the doctors, nurses, caregivers and techs who helped Dot over the last several years; you were very kind!
Funeral services will be held 10:30am, Saturday July 13, 2013 at High Street United Methodist Church, 1288 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton with her Pastor Vonda Fossit officiating. Interment will follow services in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the church from 9:00am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers that remain only a few days (Mt 6:30), memorial contributions in Dorothea’s name may be made to High Street United Methodist Church.
She is no longer in want. The Lord has restored her.
