Phyllis Bush, 89, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013. She was born at 31 Andrews Avenue on Binghamton’s East Side on Sunday, December 16, 1923. Phyllis was the daughter of the late George and Alma Leamon. She was predeceased by her brother, Vernon Leamon and sister, Shirley Green. Phyllis is survived by her husband of 64 years, Howard, her sons, Gary and Pat Bush, Whitney Point, John Bush, Binghamton and Alan and Kathy Bush, Millsboro, Del., treasured grandchildren; Dianna and Jeff Doebler, North Carolina, Amy and Doug Morrison, Virginia, Jason and Ellen Bush, Windsor, Kellie and Jay Hovancik, Binghamton, Brian Bush, Castle Creek, Katie Bush, Binghamton and Dan Bush, Wyalusing, great-grandchildren; Taylor and Megan Doebler, Matthew Morrison, Camryn and Logan Hovancik. She leaves behind siblings, Stuart and Marian Leamon, Kenneth and Nancy Leamon, Dolores and John Cole, Robert and Carol Leamon, Lawrence and Judi Leamon, Leonard and Glenda Leamon, George and Evelyn Leamon and Richard and Gail Leamon, brother-in-law, Norm Green and a large extended family.
Phyllis retired from the Binghamton Psychiatric Center after twenty years of service. She was a longtime member of Little Meadows United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, July 8, 2013 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with the Reverend Paul Reed officiating. Interment will follow services in Floral Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of services.
