Sidney Williams, 75, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 1, 2013 and was reunited with his family members who have gone to Heaven before him. Sid had a special love for children, especially his grandchildren. He was a master woodworker and enjoyed this as a hobby while the pieces of furniture he created for family were truly magnificent. He was predeceased by his infant grandson, Percy Rodriguez; parents, Bert and Eva Williams; brothers, Buddy, Harry and John Williams; sisters; Eva Metzlaar, Delia Witteman, Dorothy Whitcomb and Carol Zindle. Sid is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jean; children, Timothy and Tammy Williams, Binghamton, Suzan and Joseph Rodriguez, Conklin Forks, Peggy and Cliff Stuart, Rotterdam, NY, Sandy and Doug Graver, Montrose and John Williams and Chris Corbin, West Windsor, twenty treasured grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He leaves behind, sister, Eleanor Swingle, Chicago, Il. and sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Don Finney, Conklin Forks and a large extended family.
Sid served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He retired from SUNY Binghamton after twenty five years of service and was a longtime member of Conklin Forks United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Hawleyton United Methodist Church, 901 Hawleyton Road, Binghamton with the Reverend William Puckey officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be in Conklin Forks Cemetery immediately following services. Family will receive friends at the church from 10:00am until the time of services.
