Mary Hranek, 85, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013. She is now dancing the polka with her husband, Joe who left us in 2007. Mary’s family would like these remembrances of their Mom and Grandmother speak for them:
Rock solid whom all of the family revolved around
Great cook, experimenting with varied recipes
Allowed us to find our own way, never forced a path on us
Never spoke of ill of anyone
Taught kids to keep open mind to all things in life
Did not have a mean bone in her body
Sorely missed in our hearts forever
- Jim, son
She let me pick the peas (insert smiley face)
Hot dogs in the splash pool
Her car for date night
Cabbage soup and apple strudel
The best ham dinners
Loans (helped me save my kids)
Taking care of Jason for five months
Being Mom to Stef

Carrying water by buckets from the crick to water your gardens
Caring for all of us even when you had no time for yourself
Blueberry picking with the grandkids
Eating 100”s tomatoes right off the vine- savings seeds to plant
Lulling the grandbabies to sleep on your shoulder

Ladybugs in every windowsill
Your gardens: peas, tomatoes, cukes and raspberries
Your cooking: kolachki, halupki, kapusta soup
Driving through flooded Franklin St. when I was three

Dancing the polka with you and Grandpa at my wedding
Thank you for,
My first goldfish
Giving me a patch of garden to call my own
Saving me when I stole Grandpa’s tractor
And drove it to the creek
Teaching me to tie my shoes
Getting me off to elementary school each morning
Hosting my yearly birthday pool parties
You once jokingly asked me when I was a child if I would still love you when you were older and weaker, and I said yes. I will always love you and I am so grateful to have had you as my grandmother.
