Peter T. Brown, 57, lost his courageous battle with glioblastoma brain cancer on April 22, 2013 surrounded by loved ones. Pete was predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Virginia Brown. Peter is survived by his life long partner, Zan and their beloved dog, Krumpett; his daughter, Janet Brown Castro and granddaughter, Gabriella. He leaves behind brothers, Jerry, John, Mike and James; sisters, Janet, Peggy, Mary and Barbara; several nieces and nephews who include Joe, Ellen and Becky, who always looked to Pete for advice; stepdaughter, Michelle; her mother, Doreen and dear friend, Lois. Peter was born in Susquehanna, PA and lived in Binghamton all his adult life. Peter worked for the Binghamton Psychiatric Center and left work in 1992 due to an injury. Pete had a quick wit and a great sense of humor and was loved by all. Pete was always on the lookout for a bargain, be it an antique at a garage sale, clearance Christmas items, real estate or even cheap chicken wing night. Though he could not swim, Pete loved to be by the water and had purchased a cottage at Beaver Lake during his ordeal. There was no finer man than Peter T. Brown. Pete was privileged to have had a medical team which was above many others. His family would like to specially thank Dr. Jennifer Serventi in Neurology at the University of Rochester, who always answered her phone. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peter Brown Fund for Glioblastoma at any Visions Credit Union branch to help other victims of this terrible disease. Memorial Services will be held 5:30 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2013 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with the Reverend Alfred Bebel officiating.
