Mildred M. Regan, 91, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She touched many lives through her deep faith, service to the community and delightful sense of humor. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Martin P. Regan and two grandsons, Michael Regan and Michael Weiss.
Mildred is survived by her children Marianne (John) Weiss, Chesterhill, Oh., Joseph (Judy) Regan, Rochester, Paul (Cris) Regan, Thorndike, Mass., Beth Beach, Binghamton, Roe Regan, Novato, Ca., Robert (Amy) Regan, Glens Falls and Jeanne (John) Futscher, San Rafael, Ca. She leaves behind treasured grandchildren Lisa (Shannon) McQuerrey, Jena (Dan Martin) Regan, Tod Regan, Peter (Erzso) Regan, Joseph (Melanie) Regan, John (Megan) Regan, Thom Regan, Marty Beach, Julia Futscher and Marcos Futscher; great grandchildren Grace and Jack McQuerrey, Ada and Cara Martin, Jack and Matthew Regan, Réka and Tamás Regan as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
Mildred is a graduate of the Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in Scranton. She was a clinic and visiting RN with the Broome County Health Department for many years. She was recently honored by United Health Services for 25 years of volunteer service. She was active in her church as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Altar Rosary Society, and together with her husband, was involved in the RCIA ministry at Saint John the Evangelist Church where she was a communicant for nearly 70 years. She was a also member of the Patronesses Ladies of Charity.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am, Monday, April 15, 2013 at Saints John and Andrew RC Church, 1263 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton by the Reverend Monsignor Michael T. Meagher. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends in the sanctuary of the church from 9:00 am until the time of services.
