May 21, 1938 — March 7, 2013

   Our beloved mother and grandmother, Arlene May Turner, 74, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 after a short illness. Arlene is survived by her son, Raymond Bleil, Binghamton and his children, Kathy and Brian; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Norine Malinovsky, Lancaster, NY, and their children, Jonathan, Daniel and Matthew Malinovsky and daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and John DeFalco, Raleigh, NC, and their children, Nicholas and Alexa, mother, Irene Orr, Binghamton, brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Carolyn Orr, Binghamton, sister and brother-in-law, Melodi and Charles Mitchell, South Bend, IN, and their son, Edward and best friend of over 60 years, Sheila Bowman, Binghamton. She was predeceased by her father, Arthur Orr, Sr. and her infant son, Timothy Connor.    Arlene May Orr was born on May 21, 1938 in New York City, as the first born child to Arthur and Irene Orr. She retired from Susquehanna Valley School System after 25 years of service as a secretary. She also worked for the New York State Tax Department in Binghamton. Arlene enjoyed classical music and playing her piano. She was an avid knitter, quilter and sewer, creating her much of her own clothing. She attended many craft fairs and was skillful in making all kinds of creative crafts. Her extensive knitting projects were outstanding. She traveled for many years on the senior bus trips. Arlene was a member of the Red Hats, the First Ward Senior Center and the Conklin Forks United Methodist Church. She volunteered for many groups, including the Willing Workers at the Conklin Forks United Methodist Church.    Memorial services will be held 4:00 pm, Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with  the Reverend David C. Seaver officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Arlene Turner to the American Heart Association, 59 Court Street, Binghamton, New York 13901.
