Richard Kwiatkowski

July 21, 1947 — January 1, 2013

Richard "Ski" "Doc" Kwiatkowski went to sleep peacefully at home on January 2, 2013 surrounded by his loving family after enduring much pain. He was a pillar of strength, a man of few words, a real man’s man. He was born July 21, 1947. Richard, "Mr. Wonderful", is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Judy, his children, Nicole (Eric) McWherter, Doreen Thomas, Robert Kwiatkowski and Jason Kwiatkowski. He loved and adored his grandchildren; Brandon McWherter, Brock McWherter, Carlos Carreras, Gabriela Kwiatkowski, twins, Giana and Jaida Thomas, his twin brother, Roger Kwiatkowski. His love extended to his special sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and endearing friends. He will be greatly missed by his special friend and dog, Giselle. Richard was set to play baseball for the Cardinals; but instead was drafted and served his country during the Vietnam War. As an E5 Sargent; he received a Purple Heart for saving his platoon, a Bronze Medal and many other awards. He worked for the U.S.Embassy and retired from NYSEG after 30 years as a dependable and hard worker. He treasured his quiet times on the river at Alexandria Bay. Jehovah gives us hope of being together again on a paradise earth when death will be no more. He will be greatly missed until then. Memorial services will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 12, 2013 held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 184 Castle Creek Rd., Binghamton, NY 13901 with Brother Frank Piccirilli officiating.
