Helen J. Black of Greene      Our beloved mother and grandmother, Helen J. Black, 87, was reunited with her loved ones who went before her,  Saturday, August 25, 2012.  Her family will remember her always as the world’s best cook and a person who made every Christmas special with her creative themed trees and decorations. Her favorite place was “The Farm”. She loved to  garden, craft, sew, quilt, knit and crochet.  Helen is survived by children; Rodney and Janice Black, Binghamton, Lynndall Tompkins, Johnson City, Renee and Grady Granger, Summerville, SC, Kim and Ed Green, Binghamton;  treasured grandchildren; Jennifer, Mike, Jessica, Roxann, Lisa, David, Stephanie, Tim, Jackie and Lauren; great-grandchildren; Caitlin, Michael T., Jeremy, Alex, Morgan, Joshua, Kathryn, Sarah, Margaret and Tyler.  She leaves an additional “daughter”, Maggie Starley, Binghamton and a large extended family. Helen worked as a hostess and waitress for many years at several well known restaurants in the Triple Cities area.      Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Interment will follow services in Chenango Valley Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of services.
