George Russin

   George Russin, 83, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 16, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Julia Rusin and daughter Virginia Hobarth. George is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Rita, devoted daughter and caregiver, Denise, sons Timothy, Dean and George Russin and brother-in-law, George (Donna) Stroka. He leaves behind grandchildren, Emily, Tanner, John, Fred and Bobby Jean and several other family members. George was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving his county during World War II. He was a member of Laborers International Union Local 7. He was the family chef and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and most of all, the time he spent with his family. Although he came across to many as tough, only his family knew how caring George truly was. The family would like to thank Dr. Ramanjuan, Dr. Varma, Nancy Evans and of the health care providers who gave George a better quality of life during his illness.    Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm, Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, Binghamton with the Reverend Monsignor Michael T. Meagher officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the time of services. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery.
