Virginia Sternberg

Virginia Sternberg of Hallstead        Virginia Sternberg, 66, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011 after an extended illness.  She was surrounded by her loving family as she made the transition from this life into the next.  Virginia is survived by her husband, Gary Sternberg of Hallstead; her son, Ronald Sternberg, and his wife, Barbara Sternberg; her daughter, Kimberly Sternberg; her grandson, Stephen Sternberg; her brother, Ronald C. James Jr.; her sisters, Mannette Heath and Tracy Swan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her father, Ronald James Sr.; her mother, Blanche James; and her brother, Jerry James.         A resident of Hallstead, PA for 35 years, she was a longtime employee of Academe Paving in Binghamton, NY. In her spare time, she enjoyed car shows and was an active member of the Cruisin Buddies and Corvettes I.N.C. car clubs.  Her passions in life included gardening, doting on her dogs and spending time with loved ones.       Memorial services will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, December 16 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Ave., Binghamton. Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
