Sophia Vivian Mikades

Sophia Vivian Mikades of Windsor   Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Sophia Vivian Mikades, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday, June 21, 2011. She was born in  Manhattan, NHY and grew up in Athens, Greece and was an active resistance fighter against fascism during World War II. Sophia is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Ernest; her children, Connie and Ron Johnson, Binghamton, Maria Mikades and Michael Riolo, Endicott and William George Mikades, Windsor; treasured grandchildren; Sophia Johnson, Roosevelt Johnson, Rosa Chaluisant and Ernest Chaluisant, great granddaughter, Samirah Johnson. She leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, Manny and Mary Sfiridis, West Hempstead, NY, niece and nephew; Irene and Gus Trakas, Brooklyn, NY and Van-John  Sfiridis and George Williams, Seattle, Wa., great niece and nephew, Maria Trakas, Brooklyn, NY and George and Stacey Trakas, NJ.
