Mollie Marie Wood

Mollie Marie (Spring) Wood of Vestal   Mollie Marie (Spring) Wood, 81, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her father, George Spring; mother and step-father, Ann and Frank Vallet. Mollie is survived by her devoted husband, William H. Wood; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Louis Bernardini, Binghamton, Cheryl and Joseph Allen, Dover, Pa. and Laurie and David Passetti, Susquehanna, Pa.; seven grandchildren and their spouses, John and Jennilee Bernardini, Paul and Valerie Bernardini, Sarah and Jake Cummings, Beth and Michael Raffensperger, Kyle and Gina White, Kevin and Lyndsy White and Trevor Passetti; eleven great-grandchildren, Elijah Bernardini, Isabella, Gabriella and Shay Bernardini, Kayla and Kira Cummings, Emma and Sam White, Daniel, Brock and Conner White. She leaves behind sister, Gloria Kirkland-Zopff, Endicott, brother-in-law, James and Delores Wood, Binghamton, sister-in-law, Marie Wood, Norfolk, Va. and several nieces and nephews. Mollie was a lifetime member of High Street United Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir for over forty years. She was a former member of the Vestal Community Chorus. Mollie enjoyed singing, bowling and needlework. Special thanks to Lourdes Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion, especially Peggy Leach and Rhonda Monahan. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, June 13, 2011 at High Street United Methodist Church,  1288 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton with the Reverends Ann Blair and Jose Valencia co-officiating. Interment will follow services in Chenango Valley Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, Sunday, June 12th at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Memorial contributions in Mollie’s name may be made to High Street United Methodist Church, 1288 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, NY 13903.
