Alyce Julia ( Witko) Wallace Alyce Julia (Witko) Wallace, 97, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Lourdes Hospice. Our Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, George; by her son-in-law,John Tierno; grandson,Anthony Tierno; and by all her siblings, Mary, Anna, Elizabeth, John, Margaret, Josephine, Andrew, Katherine, Alexander, Helen, Dorothy and Rosalie. A strong and spirited woman, Alyce was the last of her generation. She had a great love of family, and is survived by five daughters and four sons-in-law, Maryann and Bud Caroompas, Dianna Tierno, Donna and Harold Rahner, Andrea and George Farina, and Karen Wallace and Jeff Pringle; by 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was proud of each one! Her memory for four generations of birthdays and anniversaries was legendary. She believed in the value of education, and in the importance of a sit-down family dinner, a practice she followed until she retired to St. Louise Manor on Upper Front Street, Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday 10am at SS John and Andrew R.C. Church, 1263 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton. Burial will be at 3pm in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dallas, PA. The family will receive friends Sunday 4-7pm at the DeMunn Funeral Home 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton.
