Betty Wright Smith

Betty Wright Smith of Conklin Betty Wright Smith, 97, of Conklin, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011.  She was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Smith, parents, Fred and Eva Wright, sister, Dorothy, and brother, Raymond. She is survived by her beloved family, son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Dianne Smith, Clayton, NJ; son Richard Smith, Garden Grove, Ca., grandson Matt Smith, Conklin and granddaughter Carly Smith (Kevin Nichols), Binghamton. Betty was a proud member of the Conklin Presbyterian Church. She served as treasurer of the Susquehanna Valley School District and worked for the Postal Service.  She enjoyed playing Pinochle with her friends, loved her cat "Timmy”, and always had freshly baked cookies.  The family would like to express their gratitude to Betty's neighbors of many years, the Basmajian family, as well as the wonderful staff of Lourdes Hospital, for their exceptional care and support.  Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton.
